Australian traffic Regions 1910-1940

I have not found any, are there any? I guess that UK regions would work as well but I'm not seeing anything there either.

I've also looked for traffic regions by JayHolland or using JayHolland's vehicles without any luck.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

:D

All post war but thanks.

Before WW2 Australia did not produce it's own cars, so a pre-war US or UK region would fit the bill.
cheers

Most of the cars from early days came in as chassis. Local coach builders put bodies on them and the steering was setup for righthand drive for Australian conditions. My Dad had a 1929 Dodge with a local body and later a 1946 Ford utility assembled in Victoria. Holden, our biggest car manufacturer stared as a coach builder.
Cheers,
Mike

Lacking any appropriate region I've assembled one using 22 of Jay's Traffic cars. I'm still testing and researching it but it does work. :)

These are very high poly so it won't work for most people and probably not on routes with high traffic density or very large routes. Should be done in a few days.

I'll look into his Vehicle set as a slightly lower poly alternative too. I can mix in US cars with these since they don't have drivers.

So... should I leave in the <kuid:381430:100125> Traffic BSA M21 AA Motorcycle Patrol? I am guessing this was a UK only kinda thing but should I leave it in?

:D

Most AAs in Australian States would have used motorcycles in the early days.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike, another question; Was the Royal Mail and GPO working in Australia in the 1930's?

Sorry, dumb question that I answered myself, never mind.

Edit: <kuid:633834:110100> Australia 1930-1940 High Poly uploaded build 3.5 and baring problems should be available soon(tm). Edit; Upload Approved!

Note: It should be possible to improve the performance by deleting the scrips and config.txt entries for the license plates but I'm not messing with Jay's stuff so you'll have to do it yourself. Jay's cars also include a shadow mesh that you might be able to delete for more performance improvement.

Our postal service at that time was called the PMG, Postmaster General. It also was responsible for telephone services. My first job was as a Junior Postal Officer, delivering telegrams. Also my first car was a 52 Ford Prefect Utility ( a 10 hp engish car). Later I had a 48 Fordson Van, based on the Ford Anglia car (another 10 hp English car).
Cheers,
Mike

LOL, bet they were pretty fast going downhill. :hehe:

I suppose I should note that this Region should be perfectly fine for UK layouts too.
