Today's the 100th Anniversary of the Deadliest Railway Accident in American History

A macabre but interesting subject . I wonder what has been the world's most terrible train disaster in terms of deaths. Here in Britain the Quintinshill disaster of 1915 was the worst with over 225 people killed.

Very sad and tragic item from rail history. While I would add that here in Scotland near the famous Gretna Green (for runaway marriages history) 226 killed and 246 injured in the .Quintinshill rail disaster 1915. It included some bodies unreconisable and some buried in a mass grave.
