How do I reset my extensions?

Hi all,
Say, I just bought a brand new Windows 7 gaming machine and all the files are missing their extensions. I'm used to the old WinXP OS and don't know anything about Win7.
How in the world do I reset the files to view their extension too in Win7???

It should be under Folder Options on the View tab (if you're not in Windows Explorer it can be done through Control Panel). The tickbox you need to look for relates to extensions.
