VIA Rail RDC

Nice!

These bring back memories for me because I rode them through out my life, though, in Boston and Maine paint scheme.

When the B&M took over passenger operations from Conrail, there was an equipment shortage during the early to mid-1980s. The B&M/MBTA leased or purchased outright Budd RDCs from many operators including CNR, CPR, VIA, and whatever came from Conrail which included those still in their original reporting marks and colors such as PRSL, CNJ, B&O, LV, NH, and even NYC even though some of these lines had been long gone since the Penn Central and Conrail mergers.

Touch of interesting history in that film visit and your observations John. The train is in excellent condition and although a different country and style attractive no matter what. Just makes a touch of pity that something so attractive is sitting there.

Now days their rear to see and even rear to get onboard I had to use my connections to get on let alone film them.

EDIT:
The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum has Ex-MBTA RDC #6134 still in her original paint, complete with MBTA lettering. They also have two other RDC's 20 and 22, previously MARC 20 and MARC 22. They're looking for someone to buy them. Are you interested?
