Now available for hiking, trains have taken on this brutal 5.89% grade for almost 180 years. In fact, some of the things invented for this grade has become standard on locomotives manufactured today.

Steepest railroad? Well that makes me feel so much better about driving a speeder up a 9% grade in the rain today. They may need to clarify a bit about what makes this incline so special with the grade.

lol My driveway is something like 5 times that, but then again it's rubber on pavement and not rails.

It's a pretty cool railroad too that ran it.
