TB Forest Faulty

Chadd04

Knuckle Shuffling
Has anyone else had some issues with TB forest content. Some of the newer stuff is faulty for me. I've tried downloading different versions of both the assets and library's and still can't get them to work. Anyone know a way to fix them or is it something the author has to fix.

May I ask, what version of Trainz are we talking about?

I installed them into TANE and they aren't faulty on my end

The question was for the OP, but for comparison knowing yours could of course also help :)

I don't know the assets the OP is having trouble with, but in theory it could be that the assets are build 4.4 or higher yet the OP is running TANE SP1 (so 4.3) or lower, which could results in errors.

They are also faulty on my build also, 92487. The last no error dl were those uploaded to the DL on 03 March 2018. These are the typical errors when I download:

Okay, well I placed mine there and I think I know what the OP means by faulty as they're faulty on my end as well.

Faulty:
<kuid2:19691:101376:1> Tb Forest S 006
<kuid2:19691:101368:1> Tb Forest S 001-20
<kuid2:19691:101369:1> Tb Forest S 002-20
<kuid:19691:100218> Tb Forest S 020k
<kuid2:19691:101370:1> Tb Forest S 003-20
<kuid2:19691:101372:1> Tb Forest S 004-15
<kuid2:19691:101371:1> Tb Forest S 004-10
<kuid2:19691:101374:1> Tb Forest S 004-7
<kuid2:19691:101373:1> Tb Forest S 004-4
<kuid2:19691:101375:1> Tb Forest S 005-18
<kuid2:19691:101377:1> Tb Forest S 007-20
<kuid2:19691:101378:1> Tb Forest S 008-20
<kuid:19691:100195> Tb Forest S 010
<kuid2:19691:101381:1> Tb Forest S 011-20
<kuid:19691:100198> Tb Forest S 012
<kuid2:19691:100058:1> Tb Forest S 020k
<kuid2:19691:100057:1> Tb Forest S 020

The build on them is 3.7

<kuid2:19691:100011:2> Tb Grass Library was uploaded to the DLS recently by toxa_batoxa and caused <kuid2:19691:100045:1> Tb Grass S 2fl to become faulty.

Reverting to <kuid2:19691:100011:1> Tb Grass Library causes;
<kuid2:19691:100048:2> Tb Grass S 06w
<kuid2:19691:100016:2> Tb Grass S 6
<kuid2:19691:100015:2> Tb Grass S 6gr

to be come faulty which were also uploaded recently. Although that fixes <kuid2:19691:100045:1> Tb Grass S 2fl.

TANE 90945

I suspect if you revert to the original Library you see all the ones the last posters listed.

I encountered the same issue in 90945 with the Tb Forest splines and replaced them with the "Forest Summer" series. The series numbers correspond to the "Tb" assets, thank goodness. k

Those all seem to be conifers. Anybody know any good deciduous tree splines?

:B~)

It seems to problem with Toxa_Batoxa's splines remains unresolved.
The problem for me with all his downloads - some are there - but others appear as white blocks and then disappear.
This is still happening with the latest releases.
The posts above don't indicate anyone has found a solution to the problem - so I'd like to ask:

Is there a fix for the TB splines that don't appear when placed in-game?

My build is 90945 SP2

The process of obsoleting old assets is broken in the current version of Trainz. In this case the original creator has updated the library without also updating all the assets that use the library. The system should refer only to the latest version of the library, but it isn't working properly.

Ensure you have the latest version of the library - <kuid2:19691:100011:2> Tb Grass Library. Remove <kuid2:19691:100011:1> Tb Grass Library and <kuid:19691:100011> Tb Grass Library from your database. They might be listed as obsolete, but that is not sufficient: make sure they are deleted.

The second fix makes them technically correct, although it is likely not necessary. The references to the library in config.txt should be to the latest version. Most of these references are inside the mesh table:

Code:
    mesh-asset <kuid2:19691:100011:2>
and the other is inside the kuid table

Code:
  0 <kuid2:19691:100011:2>

Note that this fix is for reported faults - problems with disappearing items or white blotches are due to something else.

This also works for <kuid:19691:100014> library use <kuid2:19691:100014:2>

Thank you SailorDan and John.
I appreciate your help to get this problem cleared up.
Will follow through over the weekend.
Cheers to you both

I'm bumping this thread to see if anyone has been able to sort out the problem of the non-showing of some of
Toxa_Batoxa's splines.
The problem for me with all his downloads - some are there - but others appear as white blocks and then disappear.
The updates noted above work when the original is deleted - but there are a large number that just won't stay visable.
Those using the splines - are you having the same problem?
Do you know of a fix for the TB splines that don't appear when placed in-game?
Appreciate any update - as he's done some good things with grasses and embankments that are worth using.
Thanks
My build is 90945 SP2
