Perhaps this should be moved to the Freeware Announcements forum (assuming this route is freeware).

MMNL UPDATE: 3.21.18

UPDATE: 3.21.18

In this update, track between the stations of Ingleside and Fox Lake have been completed by Shortline, the track builder for the project. Unfortunately, we won't be able to release the map yet because I haven't begun placing the scenery in between the two stations. However, Shortline has made a video of the current progress of the project.

Shortline and I frequently post project updates on our Twitter pages. Here they are:

Updates are also sometimes posted on the official website: bit.ly/mmnltane

I know it's not exactly part of the route you are trying to build, but I made the Metra line from the state line to North Chicago, which includes a very detailed Waukegan Harbor for TS12, circa 2000's. I would be willing to offer up the section as freeware if you get to the point that you want to branch off your route and include it, I was going to continue it from there all the way to Chicago (still may dust it off and continue). The water lever in Lake Michigan is set to -2, which does not match true DEM, so some height adjustment would be needed. Includes the Zion Nuclear Plant (decommissioned), National Gypsum, Waukegan Marina, Greenwood Generation Power Plant (coal), Abbott Labs, Metra Stations, etc. PM me if you are interested.

Word to the wise, it is probably better to make such an announcement when the project is nearly complete, rather than in the early stages.

Experience over the years is that 90% of projects announced on these boards by eager, panting, route builders (myself included) never actually reach maturity.

A nearly finished project complete with screenshots will be far more effective at convincing a sceptical audience.

On the other hand, it would interesting to follow along with the progression of the build, even if it never gets finished.
