Speed up simulation of AI route in driver or a session?

It is the shift key but you have to make some settings changes to activate this feature.

From the Launcher screen, click Trainz Settings then the Dev tab. Tick the box "Enable advanced debug tools"

From the Trainz startup screen, open the Main menu, select General Settings and tick the box "Enable debug features"

A general warning, using the Shift key to accelerate motion will disable some other features and may cause some sessions rules to not work correctly.

Actually, it is not necessary to Enable advanced debug tools. Acceleration works without that feature being checked.

When accelerated there is a good chance that trains that are coupling will derail. They also tend to miss trackmarks. This debug feature is only useful when the number of trains running is small so that the shift key can be released when a trouble-spot is reached.

It is a debugging tool, designed to quickly get you to a point in a session that would only be reached after a long time (e.g. a hour of two of normal running) and then ran at normal speed to detect problems, etc.

But, as Trevor has pointed out above, this is not without penalties such as missing track marks and triggers which are vital for the correct operation of session rules.

For this reason, the feature should only be used by creators testing their own routes.
