Hi all,
I'm modelling a section of mainline in the UK where the line speed is 85mph. There is a farm access level crossing on a long, straight piece of track, and I was wondering if anyone knew a formula of how to work out how far to put the whistle sign from the level crossing?
I've calculated that at 380m it would take 10 seconds for the train to reach the crossing, but I don't know if this is too much/too little? Would the need for such warning be there at a crossing that is only used by the occasional tractor?
Cheers,
PLP
