Tasmanian content creation

Tasmanian content

Is there any new progress on any Tasmanian content for trainz? There isn't a real heap of Tasmanian content especially Tasrail related anyway. Years ago people said the were making Tasmanian routes and content for Trainz but they never seemed to got finished. M and MA class were available years ago from pc railways but that website went down. Is there any new Tasmanian content being made or available to download?

If you look on the DLS, you will find Pware's excellent Fingal line, which comes complete with 13 sessions.
cheers
Graeme

Your not refering to; Tasmania's Fingal Line TS12 - Layout. It's on the DLS, along with 3 sessions. (TS2012)... Kuid2:45176:100002:1 - plus TGR Fingal Line 1955 Narrow Gauge (3ft 6in - 1067mm) (Tane SP2). Kuid2:45178:100126:1 plus several Sessions...

(Sorry Graeme, I was typing while you posted above)...

Cheers Mac...

There are a number of TGR rolling stock items available on the DLS. These include:-

<kuid:368725:15014>TGR A open wagon with animated couplings and brake hoses. NG42
<kuid:368725:15010>TGR CCC 30-ton gondola, NG42
<kuid2:506568:100011:2>TGR DB van - animated couplings and brake hoses - ACS
<kuid2:368725:15013:2>TGR DP Railcar - Green, with staff and ticket queues
<kuid:368725:15015>TGR E van with animated couplings and brake
hoses. NG42
<kuid2:368725:15011:4>TGR H Class, green, with staff and token queues
<kuid2:368725:15012:3>TGR H Class Tender, green, animated load and couplings
<kuid:45176:100357>TGR T Class 219 Narrow Gauge NG42, with token queue
<kuid2:45176:100060:1>TGR T Class 222 Narrow Gauge NG42, with token queue
<kuid2:45176:100390:6>TGR T Class 223 Narrow Gauge NG42, with token queue
<kuid:45176:100358> TGR T Class 230 Narrow Gauge NG42, with token queue
<kuid2:45176:100391:6>TGR T Class 235 Narrow Gauge NG42, with token queue
<kuid:45176:100359>TGR T Class 237 Narrow Gauge NG42, with token queue
<kuid:45176:100360>TGR T Class Tender 219 Narrow Gauge NG42
<kuid:45176:100061>TGR T Class Tender 222 Narrow Gauge NG42
<kuid2:45176:100392:2>TGR T Class Tender 223 Narrow Gauge NG42
<kuid:45176:100361>TGR T Class Tender 230 Narrow Gauge NG42
<kuid2:45176:100393:2>TGR T Class Tender 235 Narrow Gauge NG42
<kuid:45176:100364>TGR T Class Tender 237 Narrow Gauge NG42
<kuid2:368725:15001:6>TGR X-class_red_42in gauge

In addition, there are other narrow gauge rolling stock that would not have looked out of place on the TGR. The TGR was notorious for sourcing its rolling stock from other narrow gauge systems such as the SAGR, NZR and QGR. Some suitable examples include:-

<kuid2:368725:15009:1>cattle 4-wheel wagon, 8T, NG42
<kuid2:368725:15006:4>Flat-top 4-wheel wagon with stanchions, NG42
<kuid2:368725:15007:3>Open 5-plank 4-wheel wagon, NG42
<kuid2:368725:15008:2>Tank 4-wheel wagon,14T, NG42

All of the above work in TANE SP2 HF1 (although some may give you warnings, but no errors).

Regrettably, the M and MA class locos were only ever available from a 3rd party web site and vanished when that site went down. I believe that an attempt was made to ask the copyright holder to release them to the DLS but nothing came from this.

There are also a number of scenery assets on the DLS that were specifically modeled from photos of actual buildings used on the TGR.

Update 12-7-17
Thanks Pware for good info,

I'll go in and make the changes...

The route is fantastic and I'm learning more about NG things, haven't played much on NG stuff.

Blue, this is a typographical error. Product 7 should be <kuid:368725:35016> Staff, ordinary, wood, Pattern C.
Edit the config files of the affected assets and globally replace
<kuid:368725:35006>
with
<kuid:368725:35016>
.
There is an asset on the DLS of the DP railcar that already has this correction. It is <kuid2:368725:15013:2> TGR DP Railcar - Green, with staff and ticket queues.

In regards to the M and MA class, back in 2012 permission was granted to another member by the original creator through a third party to allow a limited free release of them (cjgeddes I think was the one who did so as I recall), however I am not sure in regards to the terms of downloading them - as far I know it was only that users could not naturally on-sell it themselves. Erring on the side of caution I am not posting the download link nor cjgeddes's post on the subject, other than saying that searching through the Australian Screenshots thread in Screenshots should reveal it eventually. It's entirely possible also that the link is no longer active anyway given that it was posted back in 2012.

Also Rastis was working on a ZB class diesel a while ago, but that is not yet completed. And a D class diesel in Tasrail livery by colhad is on the DLS (a Paintshed reskin): KUID2:50587:53175:1

Speaking of Paintshed reskins, years ago I did some very bad reskins of British MKII stock as TGR SS/SSD/SSS class Hobart suburban carriages in Paintshed (most of which ended up in WA with the Hotham Valley Railway), but these are old content and definitely not worth passing on (I'm rather embarrassed about them to be honest). :p

I saw this old thread, well for the last year or so I have started on the TasRail network, and will try and include old lines that use to be in use such as the Bellerive to Sorell line and the melba line that s a hard part of the network. I have been concentrating on the main lie from Burnie to Hobart and Launceston. At the moment Devonport to Burnie, and Railton but just track at this time with some roads around Devonport.
I have been trying to get the Fingal line as an add on may save me some work. But having problems I cannot down load anything from the DLS that stupid line ‘please check you login details’ no one seems to have an answer.

As you've said the link wouldn't work anyway for the M and MA class. Yes seen those.

fixed my down load problem, so running now T:ane and T12 there are still isues with tane, so i gone back and updated my T12 and put the fingal line on that, and i have been modifing it and having fun again

Funny this thread popped up, I was looking online for line drawings of Tasmanian rolling stock a couple of hours ago. If anyone knows where to find any I'd be grateful.

I've finally got the hang of content creation, and although my priority is WA narrow gauge, TAS/NT/SA 3ft 6in is also of interest in the long term. I'd love to create an ANR AL class, but I keep reminding myself that Aussie narrow gauge needs more attention in Trainz!

hiyo well I do not keep to the actual narrow gauge, I use the standard gauge in my Tasmanian layouts, it is easier to get the rolling stock and other items.
I have been having fun with the ts12 Fingal line modifying added station, using the proper names but added a working station, new iron mine at the St Nicholas site. But it is hard with single track layouts you have to put in a lot of loops. mostly the system is in real run at 60kph there are a lot of speed restriction, so an average journey you may be down to below 40kph or even less in some parts, lots of twists turns weaving in and out of the hills.

Hello all content creators, I was wondering if there's any Tasmanian locomotives or rolling stock currently being created and hopefully be released one day. I was wondering out of interest what was being created for Tasmania. Thanks

Hi Brad, I have not seen any and I do not know of any one doing it. I am recreating the TGR system, and including all the old lines. I am using the normal gauge and locos and as many steam one that I can find. There is not enough of narrow gauge stuff.

G'day, ok cool can't wait to see that if you make it available. How's it going?

Hi Brad, I have two versions one is the one I started three years ago, there was a lot done most in TS2010 then moved it to TS2012, and some now in T:ANE but there is a lot of fixing up to do in tane and it does not help when tane keeps crashing in surveyor mode. That’s why I have gone back to TS2012, this is now up to build 61388. but there are a lot of DLS stuff that has missing dependencies, like tenders ok but not the locos.
The two versions one I started has the distances scaled down, the other is the full size scale distance, this is done using the Fingal route, and then continuing it fist up to western junction, and south down to Parattah. I will then continue it more.
I tried merging this with my own, but it’s not good as the scales are different.
Not sure which I will use most likely the full scale.
I have just at xmas travelled up the old Scottsdale line as much as I could by road, taking pics to help with the build.
I will be going up the Fingal line shortly.
