Unable to download content from Trainz Download Station

Does anyone know if the download station servers are offline? I've been unable to download anything for the past 3 days. I've tried all the methods of retyping my username and password in the content manager settings as well.

Welcome to the forums.

Can you run a Network Diagnostic from the File menu and list any failures it reports - this will help to work out where it's having problems.

Shane

I use Trainz 12 on build 61388

That seems to indicate a possible firewall or server issue. Is your firewall set to allow Trainz access to the Internet?

Shane

Yes. I use Windows firewall. I also tried turning the firewall off. It happens on all wifi networks so far. I also get this error message "firstclass.auran.com took too long to respond" when trying to open ftp link on the online auran dls.

Sounds like an issue on N3V's end in that case. One thing to try is removing your username and password from the Settings box in Content Manager (then click the save button), then restarting the game back into Content Manager, then re-entering your details.

Shane

I tried that which didn't work. I'm currently trying to change the proxy setting to manual and I typed in firstclass.auran.com in the address field and 21 in the port field and content manager is hung up on trying to validate my username. I'm guessing the servers might be full or something due to approaching Christmas.

Where are you located Yanks?

I'm able to ping everything manually using a PowerShell command prompt fine.

What concerns me about your setup is this here:

This indicates that you're not even getting past the first step in the test.

What antivirus are you running?

Some antivirus/antimalware programs block programs from acting properly.[SUB][SUP]

Looks to me like a possible DNS issue?

First try in an admin command window running "ipconfig /flushdns" less quotes.
If that doesn't work maybe try OpenDNS or Googles DNS.
