Mick, try Ten Forums https://www.tenforums.com/ they can find solutions for virtually all Win10 issues and have excellent tutorials for doing anything in Win10, yes it's a shameless plug, I've been a member for a couple of years now, learned a heck of a lot and helped out on occasions as well.

Using Winaero Tweaker which has a disable setting does work or they have provided the info to edit the registry yourself

Quite a useful tool actually as you can easily deal with some of the Win10 annoyances.

This is a great tool, although it hasn't fixed the update problem. If MS had included this in Windows 10 there would be a lot fewer unhappy MS customers I think.
