Model Railroading

I just purchased the "Trainz Model Railroad 2017 DLC Bundle"...

One question:

Since I can get inside the cab with the 1-key, is a "Model" route just a normal route with various "giant" features surrounding it to make it look like it's small??

Alien --

If you are interested in the model railroad side of Trainz (and I assume you are if you purchased the DLC bundle), several of us have uploaded model railroad layouts to the Download Station. My latest can be seen here:

Phil

I would love to have it...

But, words like this make my mind go blank and I don't know how to get the whole thing...
"It’s for T:ANE and, like all my routes and layouts, all the dependencies for the layout are either built-in or on the Download Station. Use Manage Content to make sure all dependencies have been captured."

Also, I wonder---it's narrow gauge; so, I assume and loco and cars in it won't run on most T:ANE routes---right?

I put the title of the route in the Download Station search and it came up with nothing :(

Because T:ANE SP2 uploads don't appear on the Download Station (at least not yet), you have find the layout and download it using your T:ANE Manage Content. Make sure Manage Content is looking at the DLS. Add an additional filter (the "+" sign) to search by name and for the name use Oldphartz. Right click and select Download.

The layout and all the required dependencies will download. From memory I think there are only sixty or so additional assets to download. Compared to most other routes, 60 is very small.

Yes it's narrow gauge -- 30ng (30 inch gauge). To download the sessions use the same process as above. All the required narrow gauge rolling stock will download. NG rolling stock will run on standard gauge track, and the opposite is true also, but it might look a bit peculiar -- for example, the SP SD-40 will run on the narrow gauge track if you want it to.

Tell me how it goes.

Sorry---I've download things from the Content Manager but what you're saying has totally lost me...

Adding a + at the beginning or end of Oldphartz showed nothing --- just Oldphartz got the route and two sessions...

My post #7 was done from memory on my laptop in a coffee shop while having a cappuccino. Now I'm at home:

I'm assuming you have installed SP2.

  • From the initial splash screen / "Manage Content".
  • Top left "Filter" = "Download Station".
  • Click on the left facing arrow to the left of "Filter".
  • On the extreme right side, close "Payware", "Obsolete" and "Out of Date" by clicking on the "-" sign.
  • Change "Installed" to "Name".
  • Type oldphartz in the text box to the right of "Name".
  • Right click on the layout / Download.

Instead of "Name" you could use "Author" = philskene.
Then you can also add additional filters (the "+" on the right side), eg "Catagory" = "Route".

You can insert or remove columns in the main screen by right clicking on the heading of the table and then sort the listings by eg "Upload Date"

There are several other model Trainz layouts of mine on the DLS, including:

All I did was open the Content Manager, select Download Station, put Oldphartz in the search bar and got the soute and two sessions...

Thanks for the links to more layouts
