My Retirement Anouncement

I should note that my files are ANL's original's so far as I remember, just repackaged for my convenience. I don't believe I've altered them at all. Seem to work fine in TANE IMO.

Hi Rick --

"Yes!
Somebody has, and it's much quicker then a few days.
Seems to be I was lucky, took only one minute."

Excellent! Care to share how and where?

I'm thinking about those who come after us in the future. Will I be wasting my time if I do as I suggested?

I just sent Normhart a PM with my email address.

I can put them on my own domain, that's no problem.
What a problem could be is when I put the link in the open it will generate a data traffic explosion.
350 MB per hit.

Someone should put them on MediaFire or something like that.
Or do you have to pay for that sevice too?

"Will I be wasting my time if I do as I suggested?"

No I don't think so.
If I'm correct... the locs are free to share.

350 MB? That could be a real bandwidth killer.

The locomotives plus tenders in that video, previous page, make a 139 MB cdp file. I suspect that your 350 MB contains much more content?

The Dropbox link for the locomotives in the video is here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/inetljte577uc71/Loco UP FEF & Challenger #3939.cdp?dl=0

Note:

  • Download the file from Dropbox. Drag and drop the cdp file into Manage Content. It will install. Download the additional content needed from the Download Station.
  • The content retains the original kuids and will overwrite any similar kuids you might have installed. So back up any originals first.
  • The changes I have made include aliasing to a different cab, e-spec and locomotive sounds. You may change these to suit your own taste.
  • When creating a session, the locomotives will appear in the Rolling Stock flyout with the prefix Loco UP.
  • The locomotives may also work in TS12.

I'd be grateful if those who download and install could provide feedback:

  • How difficult is it to download the file?
  • Do they install correctly?
  • Can you capture all the require dependencies?
  • Do they work?

If someone has the complete files I can host them on JATWS.org. Flip them to me on google drive on some such and pm me the link.

Thanks John

Hi Phil, I down loaded the CDP in to build 88348.
1. It was easy
2. They all installed correctly
3. There were only 2 that had to be Downloaded.
4. They all work.
Thanks for the link.

Hi Phil,
Downloaded and imported into 84204 with no warnings or files needed.
Thanks for these locos and thanks to Anl for allowing them to be shared.
Cheers,
Mike

<snip>. As for now you can share Via PM or Email. I would prefer it not go on the DLS for now. If someone taps you for them then you can share it.
As I said I'm not leaving the forum. I'm just not making any more new content for release. ANL

Not sure this covers publicly shared files, up to ANL of course.

Still don't get it...

What makes a turbine so special?
Does a turbine loc looks different comparing to a steam loc?
