finding layouts

First off i am new here.how do i find model layout to use the download station is so confusing and i don't get very many results

I suspect there aren't any, as yet, for TMR17.

There are several for T:ANE. For my layouts search with "philskene" as the author, or on the Download Station look for (amongst others) Inglenook, Krashnburne, Trinity Bay, Yuan Gulch, Hoofhearted, Lilliput, ... , or search the Freeware Forum with my name to find, for example:

In fact, you should be able to find all my layouts in the Freeware Forum.

Other authors have also done excellent model layouts.

For clarity, any route made with trainz-build 4.4 or lower can theoretically work in TRM17.

There may be some issues with builtin items fro other version not yet being available on the DLS.

We will be making some updates to bring versions into line in the coming months.

I uploaded a UK themed layout for TMR17 - YMRZ Callingworth extended. It was originally created for TANE but I have extended by one board it and produced it for TMR17 only. I'll soon be uploading my Yorminster layout dedicated for TMR17 as well.
