Good Day all,

Last Sat I had to goto the Oral Surgeon for Phase one of Dental Post install, out of 3 Surgeries, and the funniest thing happened, during Drilling part of Surgery I was told I had very tough Bone to Drill thru, to the point that a different drill type was needed. Now I know what a piece of Wood Stock feels like when we Drill. Got scared a bit, what do we do now if he can't drill thru my Bone to attach a the Implant? Well as good luck would have, yes I did say a silent prayer to upstairs. It took several minutes longer, but all ended well. And Blue thanked the powers to be above. Who would have thought something like this.

While taking it easy for few days with Pain Meds, I checked in the Forum, and found an adorable little Model RR Route by
Footplatephil.

In other news, I have been looking for Swiss Assets and came across this Forum today.

Tonight's Pics:

Some extremely long continous Routes, I wonder if this works better for Trainz in Frame Rate wise, or it makes in worse?

Been playing around with German, European Winter Style Routes learning about Electrification and how they do there's some of it is very complicated. But interesting me technically.

These Spruce Trees change LOD and go translucent at close distance, I need to try and safe them, but it could end up, that they need complete replacement?

Euro Route I playing around with, as well, I have about 6-8 different Merge Projects going on.

CSX's Runaway Train: The Crazy Eights Incident https://youtu.be/cn-ZQw5Pw3M

Runaway trains are never a good thing to have roaming the rails. A derailment with so much speed, power, and weight behind them could lead to disastrous consequences. While it has happened before, it's also been prevented. On what was an ordinary day in Walbridge, Ohio on May 15th, 2001, CSX would experience a runaway train incident that would go down in infamy. With two carloads of hazardous and flammable chemicals onboard, the situation was made far worse. Many people know it as the "Crazy Eights".

East Broad Top 16: The EBT Goes to War https://youtu.be/AAxpY3JRTWE

EAST BROAD TOP RAILROAD
History comes alive when the EBT Goes to War! In May of 2023, the East Broad Top Railroad Hosted their annual "EBT Goes to War - Living History Event." The event included various displays and demonstrations of military memorabilia from three eras, the Civil War, the Great War, and World War II. Alongside this, the railroad ran steam powered excursions with recently-restored steam locomotive 16.

The East Broad Top Railroad was constructed in between 1872 and 1874 with the purpose of hauling iron ore from the furnaces in Rockhill to the Pennsylvania Railroad interchange in Mount Union. As time progressed the focus of the railroad shifted from pig iron production to coal hauling, as the railroad began to service the numerous mines on Broad Top Mountain. The EBT faithfully served these industries for nearly 80 years. Going into the 1950s, coal fell out of favor for gas and oil, leading to the Ol' Eastie's demise, with official closure occurring in 1956. The railroad was purchased by the Kovalchick Salvage Company, but rather than opting to scrap the line, it was made into a tourist attraction. The attraction was extremely popular, running strong for over 50 years, but by 2011, insurance costs resulted in the closure of the line. With an uncertain future, the railroad sat dormant until 2020, when it was purchased by East Broad Top Foundation with the goal of restoring the railroad to its former glory. Being perfectly frozen in time, the East Broad Top remains as a truly special time capsule, preserving a little bit of Americana.

East Broad Top 16 was built in 1916 but the Baldwin Locomotive works and is the first of the "large" 2-8-2 mikados delivered to the EBT. Being equipped with super heaters, piston valves, and southern valve gear, 16 outperformed her earlier counterparts. She served the railroad faithfully up until the end in 1956, being in the middle of an overhaul during its closure. During the tourist era, 16 was evaluated for restoration, but due to her boiler paperwork being destroyed, 14 was ultimately chosen. Fast forward to 2020, 16 was selected for restoration as it was in the best condition of all the other mikados, with work beginning in 2021. On February 1st, 2023, the restoration was complete, with 16 running her own power for the first time in 67 years, marking the beginning of a new era on the EBT.

My new homemade train speeding over abandoned railway tracks. Power draisine on railroad https://youtu.be/J-trmaG64WY

After my previous rail cart got stolen, I managed to find some new train wheels on Craig list. This time I went for an even more exciting build. This time around, the frame is made of steel for better stiffness and the engine was upgraded to a Suzuki 125cc 2-stroke engine. Coupled with a 6-speed transmission to deliver its 14hp to the tracks! It works wonderfully, so wonderfully that the top speed is still unknown because I got scared in 5th gear at around 50km/h.
Theoretically, it should be able to do 70-80km/h

That's a wrap for today, thanks for dropping by.

Good Evening Folks,

My apologies for not posting lately, I had a close friend who lost his 24 yr old Child, passed away in sleep. One of the hardest things to see, a Parent, family having Funeral for a Child. I needed to be there to console the family and him especially, we are close friends working together for years. Going to take some time for him to recover over this tragedy.

May has flown by, and we are now have June Dume and Gloom Weather, and recently finished my 1st of 3 Oral Surgeries for new Tooth Implant. takes close to a year between healing times, not getting any younger. Happy to say, I am on the mend.

Over to Trainz

Current Status: Working on about 6 different Rts, some are merges and I took some time too make a final check on all Routes Versions 3.5 to about 4.2. Reason being, probably in about 1-2 yrs, I'll make a jump to TRS 22 or Train Plus, whichever one will do the best. I think, possibly envision, going with the one that provides Surveyor 2 access.

Picked 3 Routes, one them was an Island, I post some pictures of that later on, very interesting Route, and the Stone Work on shear Cliffs is amazing.

Since the Color wheels don't have anything other than dials to give an idea digitally, it's a guess to resolve settings to specific Colors. So what I finished up doing, was taking pictures of my favorite Water Coolers such as this one. Silvery White for future reference.

This is an example of "ExTrainz Manager TANE SP4" This is on the DSL, just download it and then select this option when for selected Routes you want to use this on.

I testing it on a small tiled Route to see how it works. Unfinished WIP Merge of single tiled Routes I put together.

Essentially this is supposed let you know what Industries are available for Commodities for Rail Service. And shows what Rolling Stock is available for specific Commodities.

Here is an example of what is available at this particular Facility.

When you've selected Ex Trainz, you see this Banner on top of Route Screen, shows Name Tabs clickable by Mouse.

This was a one Tile New Route Testing to see if EXTM would load properly and it did.

This is picture of the ExTrainz Manager, it's Version 2.0 and I have this working in Trainz 2019.

Unusual Mountains/SP Black Widow South Desert Rte Signal install/YTube Pics

Good Evening Friends,

Busy weekend ahead, so I need to get this Posted. Working through 3 Routes, one in particular, Showing tonight, it is Southern Desert Style, I changed a lot of things in it for various reasons. At the moment, I needed to add more Signals to control the heavy Industrial Complex and Engine House assignments.

This is a picture I would enjoy recreating the Mtns, Roadway Etc, Especially the way these look, craggy sheer cliff edges.

This is Iconic Looking Photo, striking Red and White Houses Lost of Rocks, Boulders. Imagine running a railroad thru this area. For now this will go in my Bucket List for later ideas.

A small Desert Route with heavy industrial operations, some Inter modal operations.

I put in some different Signals, Invisible Etc, using Light Power too see if I have everything where it needs to be.

Hmm, This was almost a very bad clearance issue. I thought these Mechanical Sheds might be short roof clearance. If I hadn't stopped when I did, else a very nice Horn would have been scraped off.

For the moment, will use a Loop Track to go around the Maintenance Shops, till I can find a building with the proper clearance.

MOW crews out doing some work on our Tracks, after moving thru 2 miles of new Signaling, now do a reverse move and see how are lights work.

Triple Signals set at maintenance shop gateways. Looks like I need to have my Weed Sprayer Train hauled out for cleanup and abatement of ferocious weeds. And they have Stickers that get caught in your cloths or worse. Ouch!

The Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Railroad, more commonly known as the Laurel Line, was a Pennsylvania third rail electric interurban streetcar line which operated
commuter train service from 1903 to 1952, and freight service until 1976. Its main line ran from Scranton to Wilkes-Barre. this route is set in the 1940s and 50s.

Again, this is a work in progress.

Get the rolling stock from Pwieser's site under Laurel line.

Get the route on Black Diamond's page over at TEH. Also download all of his assets off his TEH page, they are needed for the route.

It is one very Unique Railroad, that accomplished a lot more than a simple Trolley Line......Please read the Back Story......

Laurel Line Status and Requests for help with ATLS system Tram Stopper?

Good Evening my friends,

I know it has been a while since I posted, had some life issues I had to and still am dealing with, close friends that are not long for this Earth. Still in the process of helping them, one is in Hospice right now. and the other could be any day. I will say, Cancer is a terrible thing, it knows no bounds and respects no one.

So lets go to some nicer things.

Scott Aka Black Diamond has sent latest information on Laurel Line and we need a little help on one part of it:

Here is his messages:

I’m trying to set up these ATLS traffic lights on the Laurel Line but the information on ATLS systems are out of date. This is as far as I got. The confusion is setting up the traffic lights that works on track and road at the same time. Do you have any knowledge of these ATLS lights?

Picture of the Crossing he is talking about.

Plus so much time has gone by that the ATLS items themselves have been updates and so far I can find very little on these updates and how they work. I’ll figure it out again, I was just hoping to skip through the trial and error part again and find somebody that knows more about it then I do?

And later in the Day as Scott was trying to trouble shoot the issue:

Through much trial and error, I think I’ve figured the ATLS system. 🤔 I’m still having a problem with the getting the Tram stoppers to work though.

And at this Stage, if any Members could help with what updates there our, Links Etc, that would provide more information on how these work it would be appreciated.

===========================================================================================================
Here is the latest update on the Route along with a link for members to download have some fun:

This Route is scheduled for the The Erecting Hall maybe sometime next week.

It’s ready! The L&WV route has been updated to version 0.4b. In this update I finished adding all the passenger stops and industries on the southern end of the route. I also added some more goodies!

You can get the route right here…

Laurel Line Route Version 0.4b

I didn’t change the kuid number to reflect this new version so remember to delete the old version of the route before installing the new one.

In the next up I will be setting up the crossings, industries and passenger stops. Along with new added building. This will be Laurel Line Route 0.5.

Enjoy,

Scott

=============================================================================================
As a Health note, this week a terrible HEAT WAVE IS COVERING California all the way to Florida, out temps will be 96-100+ for several days, and Death Valley is said to be up to 130 breaking records. So please be careful and hydrate.

Good Morning my friend,

Sorry to hear about your PC, Yes by all means, please post here what happened with your 2019 Trainz, I have had my go a rounds for years with different versions. Always here to assist in any way I can.

I headed outside before it gets Roasting hot today, we have a terrible Heat Wave in USA this week, not good at all.

Take care and big hugs from across the Pond, with a virtual Cool Glass of fine Wine my friend.

Good afternoon Blue, I'm glad to read you. Here in Spain we also suffered a heat wave, I don't like the heat.

What happens to me with Trainz 2019 is that they only appear on the routes when loading the textures and trains. Rebuilding the database does not work and any external routes that I install suffers the same problem. Only Kickstarter County works. I put a screenshot for you to see the problem.
Let's see if with a little luck you can give me some solution mate.

Take care with heat; hugs for you and regards for Mrs Blue.

It sounds and looks to me, like your Routes got corrupted, but here is some thoughts.

1. How long has this been going on?

2.Do you have any hard backups of your Trainz Routes outside of the Computer?

3. Can you send me a copy of one of these Routes so I can open it up on Trainz to see what it does?

I only had a similar problem with one of my Routes, not several, and it had to with me editing it on Sessions instead of Layers. What also is strange, seeing your Rolling Stock as derailed, but then the thought is, your missing the Track Layer. My issue, didn't have any consists on it, so maybe that is the difference in why your picture looks this way.

Good Evening all,

I miss our cool weather, Fires and 90-100 or more is the current trajectory. On the flip side have been very busy fixing water leaks, and doing Drain Maintenance to get all the Tree Roots out of my Storm Drains in preparation for the Rainy Season.

Over to Trainz I am assisting with others on the The Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley's Laurel Line Railroad aka The L&WV Laurel Line. And I am helping my Friend Javier Fant, with disappearing or corrupted Track Layer issue. Resolved successfully.

Below Pictures of a Route I am modifying,

Deeply buried below the mountain Mittagskogel, the funicular (cable car) Pitztaler Express operates in a long and dark tunnel, tirelessly transporting people up and down the mountain. In this video, you will discover how this mysterious train works and get to know its operators.

My apologies, for not posting much, in the last month, a lot of things going on personally, and I have a close friend who succumbed to Prostrate Cancer. Now I need to attend his funeral and help console his family.

Peace and good health to all.

Hi Blue. Thanks for another great post. I have a brother and a couple of friends going through the same thing as your close friend. It seems to be getting very common, and not a slow as they have tried to say. So far so good for my brother and two friends, but time will tell. All have had theirs removed but my brother's had metastasized before it was removed, so now chemo and other drugs and hope for the best. He got into a new program that we have hopes for.

Thank you Forester1 for sharing, this type of thing is common, unfortunately for us, by 80 or before we come up on this mostly Silent menace, and I too had just one friend, tell me, he had his removed about 6 months ago. To look at him, he looks healthy and strong as an OX. This fella could walk thru a door with no effort at all. Tonka Tank if you will, not an ounce of fat either. I think he is in mid 70's.

Doc told him pretty sure they got it all. But he needs to take PSU test to make sure nothing shows up.

@fant_autentico Good morning my friend, thanks for update, I got the other Routes Tracks restored, and things are looking much better now.

Misc Pictures Switchmans Nightmare / YTube Picks of the Week,

Good Evening all,

It's been a very hot week to say the least, several Fires have broke out too, and bless our Fireman as they do their very best to put them out.

Tonight Pics, a little of this and that.

I have always wondered if a Route stretched works well with Memory Rendering under trainz?

This is the second part of the extended Route, it is so stretched out, I couldn't take one picture of Route.

When you come across a Route this many unavailable assets two choices prevail, either delete all missing assets, which will clean this Route up, with huge amount of Replanting of available Trees as replacement.

The second thing, is this curved Road with excessive Splines will cause Frame Rate loss, if you can make that curve with 50% it will help quite a bit with Memory Rendering.I counted the Splines on the outside part of Curve, it looks to be about 40 Splines.

On this Picture, I think is 6 Tile Square, I decided to take and extend the top edges on both sides, for the top of the Route, I think is Short Line operation that borders under high Speed Passenger Service a larger mainline RR. That is WIP when I get back into to it and merge another German Route for more running distance.

This Route is one of many Switchman's nightmare scenario, because moving several consist of Freight, you have to figure out the right way to do, or you'll get stuck with your Locomotive and get finished with a reasonable amount of time. I have to confess, I did a few small modifications on some of the Track directions. But non the less these small Routes are a lot of Fun.

If your not familiar with this type of Route here is link to follow in Google.

This is another shot of this Switchman's Nightmare Route

A small Turntable for changing Steam Engines around etc.

Added a couple of Tiles to stem the fall off edge look on this side.

I'm sure a fair amount of you try to get certain colors of Water and it is very difficult because there are no numbers to go by for more exact Color Scenarios. One thing I try now when I find Water Colors I like, is to take a picture of the Water and the Color wheel settings and keep several different Color variations. Works out pretty good as it is much easier than try to spin 3 dials to come with a likeable Color sample.

In final picture, I stretched the ladder yards a bit longer to help allow a bit more Freight Traffic moves.

There are some interesting junctions in and around Basel - many of which we'll see in this video. We start in Switzerland's first port on the Rhine, in Kleinhüningen. Due to a routing mistake, we are then routed via the Basel marshaling yards in Muttenz, where we change directions to reach the main station

Why don't trains use CABOOSES anymore? https://youtu.be/jqPsuAivUQg

It seems that most of the American public know about the venerable caboose - but when they see a train, they almost never have a caboose! Why is that? Let's dive in, shall we?

Ok the hour is getting late, thank you for dropping by.

Good Evening all,

I haven't fallen off the Planet yet, sorry for not writing here, lots of things going on in personal life. Had a close church friend with Alzheimer pass away after a long battle.

It's good to see our Forum is back on line, when I get a chance I'll drop a post.
