Greetings.

Battles are fought everyday on the railroad. The battle to stay awake at the controls, the battle to get 18,000 tons up Sherman Hill and the battle for traction when there're a few leaves on the track. Less dramatic a though is the battle with nature for right of way. This week's theme is Grass Fight. Please send your theme suggestions for subsequent competitions via email or Skype by clicking on the little icons below my username.

One screenshot allowed per entrant. Screenshots must adhere to the theme and the Trainz Forum Code of Conduct.

Submission closes on June 20 at 12:00 noon UTC/GMT/Zulu time.

Cheerio,
Nicholas

FIGHTING MAMMA NATURE'S BOUNTIES

A rainy Spring and a wet Summer created a grass, weed and brush choked right of way at the head of Echo Canyon as the afternoon commuter runs up to the Echo Canyon Resort and Lodge.

The road crew dropped off 3 hoppers that were unloaded at the Nada coal tipple and left the empties to be picked later. The L&A has given up trying to keep the grass killed on this siding.

^awesome to see people using some of my stuff!

It's an older screenshot, but it checks out.
SLRR RSVX train makes a run through the abandoned and overgrown area, which would be reclaimed for running after almost 40 years of having been abandoned.

Dawn of Preservation

When the Festiniog Railway reopened its doors in the mid-1950s, it had so little money that it was all it could do to even begin running trains at all. Here, Prince trundles towards Boston Lodge with as much of the operable coaching stock as it could haul through the numerous weeds.
