This might be something to look at, don't think about NG (Narrow Gage) just open the link and look at how the tracks run in a Mining Quary.

You may find it useful, and don't forget the integration with the Wey-Arun canal at Pulborough and close by Petworth station which is some 2 miles south of the town. Where they had there own spur of the canal.

This layout might give you some ideas as well......

I have been working on Harbor Master route, Philskene's creation, which is amazing as usual, in fact, i would suggest you go over to YouTube and search videos under his Name, it really shows the many different routes and Tutorials he's made and how they work, I've learned a lot of ideas from his creations.....I'm posting some pictures here of the areas i've changed on this route.

We are so blessed with the many talented Route and Rolling Stock Creators............It's one of the reasons I came to Trainz community...........

You also might check the Thread, http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?46290-Make-your-Own-Train-Company , if you haven't seen it, has great pictures and story's that might spark some ideas for what your trying to do on your route........Have a great weekend SPfan123.........

I cleared out a bunch of buildings, laid new tracks, and Kit bashed several things, added an underground tunnel to connect some lines, added some land in some water areas.......I should add, I'm not trying to do prototypical by any stretch, I just let my imagination flow, and how it comes out, it does, only problem is, later on after running rail simulations I might rip out some, or I might rip it all out and start over, because my idea was not going to work out as intended!

But hey, that's the fun of it.........
