Thread: The Trainz Channel - Twitch TV

Hybrid View

Default The Trainz Channel - Twitch TV

The Trainz team has started a new development channel on Twitch TV called The Trainz Channel.

Anyone wanting a list of all previous videos will find them on the wiki HERE

Daily broadcasts consist of content development showing off either internal or 3rd party works, how to's / tutorials and other suggested streaming that the community would like to see. It's a chance for the community to either sit back and hopefully learn a thing or two and also chat amongst themselves and the n3v content creator steaming what they are working on at the time. There is a streaming schedule on the channel to let everyone know what will be streamed for the day. We will also try to remember to post something in this thread when streams are happening.

We are hopeful that it will result in some content creators learning something they didn't know or maybe some of you skilled content creators will teach us a thing or two while watching us work! At the very least it should be an additional place to hang out and chat to content creators in real-time while the stream is going.

You can post in this forum to let us know what you would like to see streamed. Keep in mind priority for what gets streamed will be the most requested topics and any internal development that we are working on.

    Rules:
    - Anyone using the chat to post inappropriate comments will be banned.
    - We will try and answer any content related questions but not all chat comments will get an answer from N3V. Please don't spam your questions if you don't get answered.

Excellent initiative and a proven way for games developers to drive greater interest and loyalty in their products.
Suggest make them short and sweet and fully of meaty goodness!

Something to look forward to although might have to become a night owl to view it. Peter

@Matt be careful of time differences. Workday down under is ~9pm to 5am EST and they stream it live. If you have access to the PC/TEG forum you'll find some additional comments re saved steams for offline viewing and other suggestions.

Since there's a bit of a time difference between Europe and Australia, I wonder if the streams will be saved so we can watch them later? I really like the idea to get some insight into the development of content for Trainz.

    Greetings

FIRST--Thank you so much for doing this! I need to "catch up" with this, but fortunately I see they are "saved" so I can. Your "real time'' is not most convenient for me. Now a suggestion: I see via some of your titles that you have covered some aspects of Scenario making. Please do some more, for example, giving more detail on some of the "commands" available, especially with a view of HOW to use them. A second suggestion: Could you create a "complete" one baseboard, layout with a very simple oval, yard and signaling, then (probably a second twitch session) create a simple AI only session? Very basic stuff really, but I am thinking it might be a helpful selling point for TANE. Now before I ask for things that have already been delivered, I better watch all the video's. Thanks again.

I watched the latest tutorial on "Interlocking Towers" and it was so informative. Thank you! Just by following some simple and straight-forward rules, I've got the use of another feature that I had not used before, but now I will. I see many uses for this.
    Thanks again.

I echo the above. I hope this will turn out to be the first of a 'mini series' on Interlocking Towers, going from the basics of path configuration (covered) through to advanced path control, tips and tricks for defining paths, how to make best use of ITs in your sessions and (eventually) how to incorporate Track Circuit Blocks. I am sure that the more ITs are de-mystified, the more folks will see them as a very useful component of the Trainz toolbox.

    Hi,
It's really quite a good idea to come up with the Trainz Channel. Good for explaining the various issues occuring in Trainz. It can get you going were you got stuck.
Except for people like me with a small hearing-problem. The voice itself, explaining the issues, is clear and o.k., but because of the echo I can not follow the story at all. And that's a pity. That can not be your goal.
    Please considder this issue.
    Thank you

'jnmkbln' as a short term solution have you considered downloading the videos then playing them back with the likes of the SMPlayer (a free audio/video player) or similar which have built in video and audio filters, equalizers and delays to enable you to perhaps tune the audio a little better to suit your hearing.
