Have a blind diabetic toy poodle who has sat next to me through 15 years of Trainz modelling. Smartest dog I've ever had, and probably knows more about NSWGR than me.

    Default R.I.P. Figaro

Last night we lost another one of our cats. This time it was our oldest, Figaro. He started showing signs on Monday, but by the time my Mom came home to see what was going on, all the local vets had closed. My Dad took him to the vet yesterday, and before my Dad finished filling out the paperwork, Figaro was already taken back by the vet. It was discovered he had chest congestion and low white blood cells. There was a chance of Feline Leukemia, but at the time the results for that was not back, and the vet said if he did have Feline Leukemia, to put him down. We have previous experience with Feline Leukemia, as we once had a pure bred female, blue-point Himalayan named Keisha, over twenty years ago, who we ended putting down. We've got an old picture of me, my sister, and Keisha sitting on my Mom's bed, the night before we put her down. Anyway, here's a picture of Figaro.

Worth mentioning is that he's the second pet to pass away this month, as my Mom lost her pet Guinea Pig, Freida. Mom would take Freida to school with her and would stay in the classroom during the weekdays when school's going on and would bring her home for the weekends and whenever school wasn't going on.

EDIT: Also, I forgot to post that we lost another cat, Daphne, after losing Wynkin.

I have a rescued German Shepherd/Rottweiler who was everything I was not looking for in a dog ... but he adopted me regardless, and I subsequently wrote a book about him with net profits going to the Humsne Society that rescued him, and spent 4 months working to make him adoptable! I'm sorry to hear that Jordon.

We lost Lulu in December, a few days after my mum passed away. Lulu was 16 and had thyroid problems, which lead to kidney failure. It was tough losing two people in the same week!

Lulu was tough to give medication to. We tried the creams in the ear, which worked okay but was really expensive and with all her fur it would never really go in the ear well. We then went to the liquid version, and that was messy and she would fight it and flick it with her tongue, and then it was back to the pill shooter. With the pill shooter, we'd find the pills hours later under the couch as if she held them in her mouth even if we gave her a cat treats afterwards.

But, alas, it all caught up to her and she's now resting in our backyard. Luckily the ground was soft enough to have a proper burial next to Spooky, Mum-cat, Smokey, and Molly.

Here's a picture of her and sister Lilly watching TV.

    Lulu is on the right...

More recently my brother's friend rescued some baby turtles he came across frozen in a farm field while out metal detecting.

His girl friend didn't want them around because they looked like bugs so gave them to my brother to watch until the spring when they'll be released back to the wild.

When they arrived they were a tiny bit bigger than a nickel and have since grown up. Here they are watching my brother work at his computer.

Last of a long list of dogs. Our little toy poodle is small only in statue, but the bravest dog ever. Now sixteen, blind, diabetic, and beautiful.
