GWR King George V and GWR Autotrain Pass

You know I think the fireman on the Class 1400 locomotive must have been rather lonely with the driver all nice and cosy in his cab at either end of train.

These autotrains were quite an innovation as rods went from the driving "autocoaches" back to the fitted Class 1400 locomotives so they could be driven completely from the cab at the front. But the fireman had to stay in the locomotive in order to keep the fire under the boiler hot!
