For Peter..... its a shallow lake, more of a flat flooded basin due to an ancient hill slide behind the camera blocking the valley and creating the lake. The river is slowly cutting a channel back towards the lake though, and in the future from the competition picture is this after shot. Approx 18 months after the disaster, scoured banks, lost land and trees (new trees being planted to help prevent further erosion), and a new bridge. The old fertile lake bed with a layer of new grass that will eventually become farm land, machinery on site to build the first road bridge in mid shot.
