Exporting CDPs and uploading foobar!

Started to "fix" some of my content so that there are updated versions that show no errors or warnings in TS12, and hopefully T:ANE.
It's been so long since I've created for Trainz, but most of it's coming back to me.

I've fixed the UK Billboards to start with, and now I want to export them to CDPs and upload them to the DLS.
I was directed by CMP to this page, with all it's wonderful information:
http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php/Help:Content_Manager

Wow! That was worth the visit! :hehe:

So, if you'll indulge me, I have a couple of questions about the process:

  1. Is there really no way of exporting from CMP to single item CDPs, other than selecting them one at a time?
  2. By selecting a group of CDPs to export, does that mean they are then "grouped" or part of a pack on the DLS, like it used to be? (Is that still a thing?)

Once these are done, I'll be updating the caravan park items the same way, and I'll probably leave the other stuff as it is.
Then, it'll finally be time for new content! :D

On that subject, as well as doing some new Billboards, there will be other items that will have advertising on them.
What's the official stance on using real companies for this type of thing?
I know that some people get their knickers in a twist over copyright.

I'm quite happy to make fake companies a'la GTA games (like Bord Motors, or Fesco supermarkets), but just wanted to hear what you guys think.

Any comments appreciated.

Brian.

Alternative (maybe easier) upload way:
Right click all the assets you want to upload in CM and select Upload. They will show up in a list on the left. Click Upload again, click yes, and done.

1. No
2. Yes

I use the web page for uploading not content manager, uploading in bulk in the one cdp has always worked for me as they get split back to individual items by the whatever it is process that occurs after submitting them.

Thanks guys.

I don't mind uploading groups of content in one CDP, and it's useful for keeping my own backups that way too.
And anything that doesn't belong in a group can always be packed up on it's own.

As for the copyright thing, I've just noticed that I uploaded real company names on my Retail Park content (which I'd forgotten about, and will have to check they work in TS12/T:ANE too), so I'll do as I did then.

Cheers.
