Worthington tower, the crossing on Norfolk Southern's Sandusky District and CSX's Columbus Line Sub. I took a little artistic license here and tore down the overgrowth where the tower used to stand and put in an observation tower and an Amtrak station.

Heading south through my neck of the woods. There is actually a crane rental company here, I thought a lumber co. would be more interesting. I couldn't find enough cranes anyway.

Approaching Weber Rd. The signal seen in the foreground is invisible. I have it before an invisible junction which is linked to a crossover at the interlocking. The reason for this is to keep southbound trains held outside of the Weber rd. crossing detection triggers. I plan on using the set path rule extensively and have found that A.I. will stop indefinitely at a junction that is not in their path list and is set wrong.

Looking west on 11th ave at the south end of the fairgrounds. I try to only model what can be seen from the cab. This is almost a requirement when making an urban route. I also use lower poly track in more asset laden areas.

Columbus city salt piles. There used to be a large PRR yard here. The tracks in this area are pretty much all that remail, with highway 670 in its place.

Heading back towards downtown, this is Ohio Central's Columbus/Newark trackage that they use to access Parson's yard ect. ect. The track on the left is the Abbott Laboratories lead.

Dude....just......what.....

Bacon...

WANT. This is amazing work. Looks like a route I can whip CSX Q trains up and down, splendid.

Looking west towards the columbus tunnel. This is towards the west end of CP138 and where NS trackage passes underneath High St. and the arena district.

This spot is highbanks metro park. I couldn't find suitable models so I just made it some sort of restaurant with a first rate view.

Scioto interlocking, a.k.a little miami cabin. This is where, at one time, the C&O, the Hocking Valley and the PRR crossed. It is now the start of NS's Dayton district, West Virginia 2ndary and the crossing of CSX's columbus sub (not to be confused with the columbus line sub)

This is of course the historic Spaghetti Warehouse, which used to be an ice house. I bar tended here for seven years, and used to take frequent smoke breaks to watch the action. I even had a few times when NS and CSX crews were stopped at a red board and called in a carry-out order. My job as well as bartending was also to handle these orders.

A little more south I took more liberties and deviated from the prototypical.

This is when I decided to change things up a bit. I put an intermodal yard and Watkins yard on the west side of Columbus, instead of on the south. The main reason for this is that I wanted to focus more on operations through Scioto interlocking. With Watkins on the south side as it is in real life, I would have much much more urban area to model also. I may move it to its real location at some point... sureshot's route of Portsmouth to Columbus is one reason as his would end where mine would pick up...a few iPortals and you're set.

This route (Columbus) is intended to mate with another I am working on (probably around 75% complete) This will represent central and northern Ohio although I did throw some unprototypical hills in these :)
