Engine Sound Trouble

I'm having trouble with engine sounds in Trainz12. When in chase view the sound is extremely quiet and you can't hear it. When you are in the free roam view there is a certain distance from the engine untill you can hear the sounds correctly and this distance seems to change. Its almost like being close to the engine is flipped with being far from the engine. If you know what is happening or have any suspicions please tell me.
