sound not playing

i was starting my train to test out a horn i made and when i tried to blow the horn no sound came out
when i started the game again no sound is play from my speakers what do i do without uninstalling my game(or reinstalling it)

Is the sound on your PC working in other areas on your PC, are built-in Trainz hornz working ?

If it is a custom horn that you made yourself, perhaps it is in the wrong format ?

its the entire game that the sound is not playing

A thought here. Apart from the possibility that you've muted the sound, it is also possible to reduce the sound in Trainz to nothing using the in-game Sound Settings tab (Main Menu > Options > Sound Settings) so it may be worth checking there.

Make sure your computer sound is not muted. Make sure trainz is not muted. See if you accidentally muted the game from in-game as well.
