What am I doing wrong? (T intersection)

Recently while working on a session I decided to attempt to make a T-intersection. The model below shows what I have come up with. I know I am doing things wrong because when in driver mode it is not realistic in the way that R4 traffic gets stuck at the R1 stopper. Can one of you guys help me out by telling me what to add/remove/modify?
Thanks in advance! :)

You'll need to put the split in the approaching roads before the traffic stopper, so that the traffic coming in the opposite direction misses the stopper as it exits. You may need to play with the alignment to make sure everything turns in the correct direction.

I'm also not sure why you have 4 stoppers & 4 routes for a T-intersection...

Thank you paulzmay for pointing out those things. In this type of scenario how many stoppers do I need? 3?

3 would be most normal - it depends on how many approach lanes, and the way the phases are arranged. There are also multi-lane traffic stoppers (by me) if you want to stop parallel lanes of traffic.
