Why not share stuff?

Went out driving today and followed an NS line east. Soon came back and noticed it was close to Amtrak time. Parked in a nearby lot and walked over a bridge and waited and got this picture of the Amtrak:

Eventually the grass was mowed and I decided to go on another drive. I ended up in Coal City to hang out with a friend. We eventually went out to the tracks and caught a train before I realized the time and headed back home.

This one was in Kuala Lumpur. Had an hour to kill before departure and the escalators to the basement platforms were left unguarded. So I slipped down and walked the length of the deserted platform. At the end of said platform were stairs to track level and a heavy duty door left ajar on the other side of the tracks. Checked for trains then went over to take a look. It was a light maintenance facility for intercity expresses.

(Pardon the quality; taken four years ago in very low light with an iPhone.)

Interesting tidbit about that middle pic. The railroad didn't have enough power cars and short local trains don't need the full output of a regular one. So, they McGyvered a generator onto a flatcar and called it a day.

Took a trip to Petersburg about a month ago, found out there was a group of about 20 guys that hang out there from about 12:00pm(noon) to 11:00pm... I'm going back today in hopes to catch some more shots like these:

I also went to Ashland earlier that day before making the decision to head back south to Petersburg.

This summer my family took a trip to Lancaster, and as a treat on the way home, we stopped at Strasburg to rekindle some memories. Also happened to be a day where both #90 (the 2-10-0) and #475 (the 4-8-0) were both heading the excursions for the day, so i was lucky enough to cath #475 before we left for home.

While going to NJ for a family reunion, we stayed the night going to and heading back in Scranton, PA. While we were there, my family and I went to Steamtown and we all had a blast. A couple months before, I saw NKP 765 coming through my hometown in SW MI. Will upload pics in separate threads...
