How can i fix lag in trainz 12

So, I am using ts12 and I m getting some laggy or jittery trains. is there a way to turn off shadows, I heard that helps. Im using windows 8.1, 3.2ghz processor, 8 gigs of ram, and a GeForce gtx 750ti gpu. Any suggestions? Thanks.

To turn off the shadows in Trainz, you open the launcher screen then navigate to Options and then advanced options and tick off the shadows.
