I was on the yahoo home page trying to look up something railroad-related when I saw the headline reading 'Deadly train derailment in India, the total of people killed is 30 and the injuries as of right now stands at 100,the engine and the cars behind it jumped the tracks.
 
They have one of the most amazingly efficient rail systems in the world, but when things go wrong from time to time the death toll is usually significant because of overcrowding and lax safety standards.

That's terrible news, but only 30 people isn't that bad considering the number of people that actually ride the rails in India. They can thank the British for their rail system they use today. The lines are broad gauge and are based on Brunel's standard.
