Regarding fishlipsatwork's many contributions, on the DLS and elsewhere:
I've found these to be invaluable, and really appreciated the effort he and others put into these. Obviously many others have created terrains like this. So here's a plea: If you do create a real-life terrain map with hog textures for roads, tracks, etc. please consider posting the raw map before you start adding your own track, etc. to it. I'm sure there are those that will complain that this will clutter up the DLS, but considering the utter **** being constantly posted (often one-board blank grids with no scenery and one or two tracks somewhere) I think having more real-life terrain maps to choose from would be greatly appreciated.
As a former library worker, I also have to comment on the above statement about a given map only getting two or three downloads. Many of the books in the libraries I've worked in have either never circulated or circulated perhaps once or twice. The point is that they're there when someone does need that one particular piece of information. The DLS certainly qualifies as a library (and an incredible one) so adding your own route contributions would not be a waste regardless of how few downloads might actually take place.
Just my 2 cents' worth,
Lamont
