ACL 4-6-2 1504 has been sitting in front of the Jacksonville, Fl. convention center for years now, and recently been looking pretty tired looking. Recently, money has been donated from NRHS and CSX to help restore the locomotive cosmetically and have a shelter built over the locomotive. Today, 1504 is one of only a select few ACL steam locomotives surviving and needs to be protected for generations to come. They are currently in the early stages stages of looking over the locomotive and seeing what condition it's in. Another possible plan for the distant future is to possibly get it operational, but this is far from being set in stone, and as I said would be far in the future. What's important right now is to get her out of the elements and looking beautiful again!
