When opening from desktop I get the warning:
Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer.

Shoulder I be concerned?

You could also try : http://www.malwarebytes.org/ , download it and let him scan .

No, it's IE or some other browser preventing locally installed HTML content from being opened.

For IE you need to go the Internet Options then the Advanced tab. Check the box that says "Allow active content to run in files on my computer" and restart IE.
