Google Maps Railfanning Section (READ RULES!)

A couple of Providence and Worcester engines waiting to enter their Worcester, MA yard.

Great view of the trains here. Rotate around and you'll see other neat shots. There are awesome buildings here too including the old Worcester railroad station built by the former Boston and Albany.

John

EDIT: Fixed with Dave's help. Thanks Dave!

John, I don't know about anyone else, but your link doesn't work for me.

Make sure you select the "Short Link" thusly:

Thanks

Dave

Sorry John; your link is not working for me. It just takes me to Google Maps, showing North America. Could you check again and be sure you copy the link from the "link" button you find in the same menu as where you find "Get Directions"?

Edit: Just noticed Dave post the same thing but apparently it took me forever to create my post.

Anyway,
Here you find "Union PaGOfic" 362 and HLCX 3832.

Check the link to find out I wrote "Union PaGOfic" correct :hehe:.

Edit2: ... and now I noticed some already posted the same link as I just did . Not my sharpest post lol.

The Cock-A-Boose railroad at Williams Bryce Stadium in downtown Columbia,SC.
The cars can be rented for games and cost enough to buy at least two brand new cars. Yet there is a 5 year waiting list to rent these and the passenger cars that are further down. All of the cars can be legally viewed and photo graphed from the street or near by parking lots. This is one area that the University of South Carolina actually encourages the use of cameras. These are a mix of old Conrail and ICG cabooses. Some of the passenger cars are in their original colors.

Not a live one, but an interesting one none the less.

Frank Bartus (fabartus) and I took a trip up 309 north during an Anthracite region route investigation this past August. Along Route 309 just north of McAdoo, which is south of Hazelton, we came across this poor old Whitcomb diesel rusting away. The pile of wood contains some switch tracks, frogs, old ties, and other structures. The big dirt area just to the left is old coal from the strip mine.

It seems that the Geeps are back in Gearhart...

If you go into Bird's Eye view, you can see the remains of the old roundhouse and in person you can see some old "Conrail" trailers and CPs with Conrail lettering. BO Tower (one of the operating towers in the state, due to be shut down in 2015) is still labeled with Conrail-era lettering with NYC-era Searchlights.
