What's Do these Signs Indicate

I d/l a route from RTS and along with the route there are these two track signs/signal that I would like the meaning of, I believe they are used on the Romanian Rwys and on the EU system. Thanks

Hi John,

I've seen those too but could never find anything about them. I think they may have to do with some kind of advanced warning such as slowing down, perhaps with 3 bars being fast, 2 bars slower, etc. Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

Guessing from that article, they are signs placed at a defined distance before a signal to warn that it is coming up.

The translated Romanian to English comes out to 200m & 300m advanced warning, but does not explain what the waring is.

I would imagine that it is to tell the driver to be prepared to stop, that an unseen red signal or station stop is 200m - 300m ahead

Ditto. There are similar German signs, with diagonal stripes, that are placed in advance of a signal - So I'd deduce that their purpose is to inform the driver that a signal is coming up in X meters.
