Invoking the My Route My Rules rule.
CN 9000 comes west.
Thanks to WhitePass for creating this piece of Canadian rail history.

Really nice work on that texturing. Reminds me that I need to find more rocky hillside textures like that for my own route. That dark bit of cliff texture in the bottom center of the image looks really good too.

Thanks for the comments krpkk.
PBR textures can look quite nice at certain camera angles and time of day. Here's the same angle at noon for comparison. I use PBR Foliage 6 as a base coat followed by large strokes of PBR Soil Texture 74 and dabs of PBR Rock 26 Rough Surface. The mountains are PBR Cliffs 3 Seasonal and PBR Cliffs Seasonal 1 along with dabs of Rock 4L 4. PBR Snow 6 and PBR Snow Texture 11 on the peaks. The dark bit in the foreground is DG Utah Juniper Forest Texture 4.

Done with a small radius brush and hours of click, rotate, click, rotate, change scale, click, rotate, etc.

cheers,
casey

Some more vintage content

Recently I decided to revisit the early 19th century period of the Canadian Pacific in the BC Rocky Mountains and make a few new pieces of content.

2021-09-19_193400.jpg

First is this 4-4-0 #147, formerly #5 of the Joseph Whitehead class. She was built by Baldwin in 1879. This reskin is meant to represent how she looks c. 1884. I reskinned this from the Virginia & Truckee 'Inyo' locomotive by bdaneal.

To go along, I also reskinned a baggage/mail car and a 47 foot long wooden clerestory passenger car from models originally made by Pencil42.

All of this content is still WIP and I'm trying to get this equipment as historically accurate as possible, so if you have any feedback like corrections, comments etc, it would be appreciated!

Early CP pioneer era equipment

I've been making some new rolling stock from the early CP steam era.

First are two different number ranges of wooden 34ft boxcars based on a photo from cpconnectingcanada.ca

Second is an alternative version of the baggage car and 47 foot coach, these are meant to be 1880s version while the first one I posted is 1890s.

Finally this is an update to my old CPR wooden caboose to give it link and pin couplers for the 1880s/1890s era.

All these items are being made in memory of the late Normhart and Ceebee, both long time veteran members of the Trainz community who've sadly passed away. They helped and encouraged me to get more into the late 19th century period of railway history,

@shebashetan7 Always good to see more from the early era. Seem to recall seeing is a Rocky Mountain route from the era with all the original features like wood trestles and bridges.

Double barrelled and fully loaded

It's been a bit of time since I last posted a progress update on my DAR route. I have a video coming out shortly that explains the new track soon to open up.
