Yeah from the looks of it, it has happened. Right now they're just waiting for the STB to approve or decline it.

Cheers

Probably won't be a green board until sometime 2022.
The plan is to call the new railroad "Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad." Yuk!

It does seem like KC, C and P should do a little more rearranging, how about Kansas City, Canada, and Pacific? Or something completely different.

What about doing what the Southern and Norfolk and Western did when they merged? They dropped the 'and Western' from Norfolk and Western and replaced it with 'Southern' to form Norfolk Southern. I'd suggest Kansas City Pacific, Canadian Southern, or Kansas Pacific. I think Canadian Southern is the best choice because the merged railroad covers all of Canada and then extends south into USA and Mexico.

Been around Sarcee many times in person, gotta say that looks pretty sweet.

I've just finished redoing the trees on this route for the 4th and hopefully final time. Here a lengthy CP intermodal drops downhill.

Looping under itself. A train needs to be around 6500ft long to fully cross itself here.

Both ends of the train, as well as the uppermost trestle (for which I am currently looking for a suitable replacement asset) are visible in this shot, as the train starts down the steepest section of the hill

Inching down the last 1.5 miles of grade at 10mph, and nearing a crew change at the bottom. The grade on this last stretch is 2.6%
