GONE AND FORGOTTEN
on Sunday I caught NS O52 at Devine Street Junction in downtown Columbia, SC. The train left Andrews yard and was enroute to Parr SC ( VC Summers Nuclear plant) Also slated to come thru on one train is WECX 800 and WECX 801 which are currently sitting at Port Charleston. As with this train, you can bet that I'll get both pics and video.









 


This is the second High and Wide train that I have seen on NS in Columbia and I've seen just as many on CSX. With power plants coming back online or being refurbished around this wont be last train of it's type to come thru. Also we have a GE Turbine plant in Greenwood that sends High and Wide loads to Charleston.
 
I got to see the one O53 that they had a couple weeks back. If you think O52 was big then try O53 on for size. It was absolutely massive, especially with it trying to squeeze its way through Orangeburg. If you want to see video of them look for Reginald McDowell on YouTube. He has both O53 and O52.
