Hey All,

OK I got it all setup and running mostly however when i do a missing assets check i have 9 broken (mainly due to sound file problems should be easy to fix) 1 asset missing a dependency that when you check it is unknown AND a list of other unknown assets that are missing from the map.

This is the list any help with locating them would be appreciated:

Missing assets

Hey bectster181

Some content may not be available from the DLS. Try www.trainzkuidindex.com

As for <kuid:429700:100193>, I might suggest you download from DLS "NSW Illawarra & Southern Highlands Version 3.0" <kuid:429700:100441>
which has been standardised with NSW style catenary, and does away with <kuid:429700:100193>.

BUMP
Reactivating this post as there is some interest in NSW based routes at the moment.
It's worth reading all comments as there are some recent additions.
The fully merged layout works well in SP3.

I'm interested in NSW routes, though more Blue Mountains and west. Not much available apart from the above, so I am building (my first attempt), Mt Victoria to Lithgow circa 1910 just before the Zig-Zag was closed and the ten tunnel deviation opened.

There are a couple of routes on the DLS already from 2017.
Search using "Blue Mountain"
Also I did a version of the Lithgow Zig Zag ages ago and the Wolgan Valley line from Clarence down the Newnes.
They are still on the DLS under my userid but yoy have to tick all the versions of Trainz to find them as they are built in the
early versions of Trainz.
PG
PS. I have a recovered copy of Lithgow route at TRs2010 level. it also includes the 10 tunnels section and Zig zag from near Bell thru to West of Lithgow.
Could send you a CDP if you wish just for comparison (its pretty rough topographically as built with HOG and not DEM 100%accurate)- just PM me.

Thanks, I did just recently get around to searching and found a lot there and downloaded Casino to Lismore, as I used to live near Grafton and know the area vaguely. Odd that it lists the route as being from DE (Germany)? Had a quick look. The only Blue MountainS line listed in the DLS is not even in the Blue Mountains, but is Penrith to Sydney! Yours would be more interesting ;)

Am I missing something as how can one merge rand to henty when on sothlines henty Elevation is 230 and on rand to heny elevation is 498?

Les it takes a little fiddling about but if you remove the henty area from the branch line it will fit ok it is a long while since i did it but if i remember you should go to do a merge without loosing any base boards first to see how much you need to remove to get the hemty stations to be overlapped and see what boards show as red then open the branch line seperately and remove those boards save as a different map like branch mod 1 and try to merge it and if it is not right again remove more boards etc till it fits safe each time you delete boards as your mod 1 file and if you oops you just open the origional and restart from there again this is how i merged the whole line picton to albury and all branches they will mostly almost fall into place but all will need a little caressing to make whole map and at some joins will need a little earth moving to match. It is worth it in the end as it will take almost the correct amount of time to run from Albury to Picton as the XPT did when i used it a few times for the exact journey, but it will need some fine tuning and standardization of different items depending on the era you want to set yours in as some areas have modern lights as signals other areas have old semaphore system etc and same with the point controls some use modern machines and others use old ground throws and others are all controlled by the old rod system from the signal boxes.

I have tried to download the Picton to Goulburn route to TRS2019 and it loads with just a couple of missing assets that i have since loaded.
It shows no errors, but all track is just showing dotted lines.
I have seen this before but don't know how to fix or overcome this missing track.
Can someone help me understand what I can do.

I have downloaded a couple of small NSWGR routes before and easily updated the track and other items to a reasonable state but I am stuck without track on this route.

Hope someone can help

Hi Colin, The quick fix is to replace the missing spline asset with your choice of track. The other way to do it is to find which track has been used and install it. Option 1 works where there are no other splines missing. CM will let you know the kuid of the missing track, however, as PGibbons generally only uses DLS assets I suspect the track may have been built-in to an earlier version and not in TRS19.
cheers

Thanks for your suggestions. I am still a little lost. All the PGibbons route (According to CM) do not show the track details, just dotted lines. So how do I find the track used ?.

Two of his routes used TANE 1Trk Wood or Concrete but if it was one of those it would show up. Option 1 replace the track . . this is a big route so are you saying only way is to manually install the track piece by piece?.

I do appreciate your effort to help I just need some hint as to how to find the missing track when CM does not indicate there is missing track.

Hope you can help.

Cheers

just had to redownload all the tane or earlier versions of the maps needed for this set of maps to make the main southline how ever i have found 4 are no longer showing on the DLS even using FTP search etc.

They are:

Bethungra
and the 3 maps that make up the Tumit Branch.
All others are still there but with Bethungra missing i have a gap from north of Junee to just south of Cootamundra!

Does anyone knowwhere I can get these missing maps or atleast the Bethungra map for before ts2019 as I am looking to rebuild it for the Tane version mor can update the earlier maps to TANE reasonably easily

Ok I knew this would happen lmao. Spent a week getting the maps sorting them into their order and joining them checking each day for the missing ones no luck then as soon as I post this help notice low and behold while waiting to see if i get any reply with help i do yet another search for Bethungra and Tumit Branch maps and search for maps from PGibbons and what do i find LMAO the missing maps have suddenly resurfaced so all is well and have downloaded them

Sorry Colin, I should have been more specific. You need to locate the "missing spline asset" with CM and put it in a picklist. From there, drag the missing spline asset to the "to be replaced' box on the Bulk Asset Update/Replace Tool and use it to replace the missing spline asset with the track of your choice. The dotted lines are in fact the missing spline asset.
cheers

If you are merging all of the Main South and branches routes (Southlines) I would suggest using my ARTC Main South route from Bethungra to Seymour for the southern backbone, as all the branch stubs are already set up. If you are merging in Tane, you will most likely need 32gb RAM for it to be successful. I have the whole lot merged from Illawarra to Seymour and the resulting route is 1.3GB in size in CM

Thanks Grahame, I was still unsure but noticed in the replace screen a finder button, clicked the dotted lines and it was loaded automatically. Selected a Protrack NSWGR track and wonders . . .all was done, about 98% accurate a couple of red circles on points here and there.

Magic . . . . . a great save, thanks again.

No worries Colin, I wasn't sure the easy way would work which is why I gave the long winded version. That method is wonderful for replacing billboard tree groups with the hidden build 3.9 speedtree tree groups.
cheers
