NSW Main Southern Line - Henty to Albury

The final section of the Main South will be on the DLS in the next day or so.

This completes the NSW section of the line south from Picton - approx 560Km of Main line and, unlike the real thing, dual track all the way.
Albury was once the hub of a major rail centre where the NSW & Victoria networks met and because of the differing guages in the two states
freight was swapped or bogies swapped to suit the guage. Albury yard was very extensive. Ive built the yard based on a circa 1945 plan (thanks to DiRiCo)
but all in SG track.
For those who merge this with all other southern NSW routes the entire route file comes in at under 300Mb in TS2010 and runs cleanly on W7 in 64bit mode.
Good luck.
Maybe now I'll return to warmer 'climes' and finish Grafton to Casino - I'm looking for someone to build the Grafton Bridge over the Clarance River.

Thanks Peter, I am just now cleaning up the route around Goulburn then I will merge yours together with what I have. Hopefully my computer can handle it.

Many thanks for all your work on these route.

Hey Peter,
Enjoying your Picton to Goulburn route, and the Joppa Jct to Binalong line, but I can't merge them with the model of Goulburn by ntesdorf I have due to a drastic height difference. Is there any way to rectify this?
Also, Southlines Four won't open in my copy of TS2009 SP4. It shows no errors or warnings in CM v3.3, but Trainz crashes when I try to open it. Sorry to be a pain, but would you have any ideas about this?

Thanks,
Mitch

Hi Mitch
Ntesdorf did a second revised version of his Crookwell to Goulburn layout at the correct height .Iam pretty sure it was put on the DLS in the last couple of months.

As noted above the latest version of ntesdoff's Goulburn Crookwell Taralga route on the DLS on 26 April 2013 is at the correct elevation.

Southlines Four has been around since 2003 and was built in one of the first versions of Trainz. I havnt used TRS2009 much and have been using TRS2010 for my latest efforts. If you still have TRS2006 try to open Southlines Four there and save it, then move that version over to '09'. Not sure what else to try !

Any chance of a guide of what joins to what as I am getting very lost now- you can if you do it right join up almost half of NSW.
Thats if you merge routes like my Cowra to Blayney and the Eugrowa route with Phils -weddin.

I have merged a few since its now working ok in TS12 but not 100% sure I have it right ut the height problem in a few routes is a bit of an issue.

Thanks Peter, your details in the other thread maybe better then a diagram.

One thing people may find a problem with is that some of the old routes (the Tumut ones from memory) seem to have a problem when merging and no one knows why. I have them some where and Peter gave me permission to forward the merged section on. So if anyone is having problems PM me and we can arrange something.

I have not yet merged ntesdoff's routes to the rest yet mainly due to the amount of detail in his sections, a lot of it I think needs removing (especially trees) so as not to over load our computers. The route is large enough as is.

I have just merged the Henty to Albury section and at the other end have gone to the Goublurn section merge with ntesdoff's route. I deleted a lot of his Branch line section for now just to see how everything else works out. So far it all seems to be working well though I have not full checked the route out.

Have fun everyone, this is one Huge Master Piece of Route creation by a number of very talented creators in particular Peter.

I think some of the older routes created in '06' definitely inherited some of the early Trainz bugs.
I might re-release a few of these branch lines as a single route at TRS2010 Level, just to save some time & trouble.
Tumut, Tumbarumba, and Hay would be a goos start....
stay tuned.

That is so true of the Eugowra route it is tree over kill more tree than is there in real life - alot of it is wrong as well= Cowra is missing some sidings it needs, would have been better to start off where the Weddin route ended instead of reproducing it and over detailing

I just deleted the baseboards of ntesdoff's Eugowra route for Cowra to merge the route, but I am still chopping down bloody trees. So its not merged yet :D I must say of his work though that it is very good with great detail, I am quite impressed. The problem is to merge them without overloading the computer.

Peter, that is an excellent idea, especially with the Tumut routes. From memory there is something in there creation that upset the merging of them in at least TRS2009 and above, possibly TRS2006 too. I could only merge them in TRS2004 (good old 2004 to the rescue :D )

Craig-
You can use the 'Replace asset' function to clean up or remove unnecessary content.
First Replace the unwanted item(s) with one that is a Downloaded one but not necessary in the route.
Next save the route, go to Content Manager, delete the item you just used in step 1, (copy it to a CDP first so you can use it again)
Reload the route and use the Delete Missing Assets command...

Repeat as necessary.
