It was never a heavily used line. The Lower West Side only saw one freight train and one passenger train per day for most of its life until the passenger service was discontinued. Then the freight service was down to five days, three, two, and finally every Thursday until the end. South of the airport the branch had one customer with an actual spur - everything else would be loaded on the "main." It was part of the character of the branch.

The last regular train ran on June 13, 2007, collecting three lumber loads, five woodchip loads, a surplus woodchip gon, and an empty seed hopper to take back to interchange at Corvallis. The line sat unused for months. Then, with the economy declining and "fertilizer season" coming to an end, a deal was struck to store 400 covered hoppers on the line south of Greenberry. Here, in typical October Oregon weather, the line of hoppers sits waiting for what could very well be nothing to happen.

This line was closed in the '60s and the track lifted, but track has been laid to the right of this shot and may reach further if funds allow.
