LE&E class R-1 3701 tackles the 1.5% climb out of the Wanakah River valley with time freight CB-72 in August, 1936. A few miles east, the train will set out a few cars at Cattaraugus before heading for Albany. Although the R-1s primarily held down passenger assignments, with reductions in passenger service during the depression, they were increasingly assigned to hotshot freights, particularly on lines east of Pittsburgh.

Dyratrast, that route looks like it is coming along well! Is it a prototypical route, or fictional? It looks like it has a lot of possibilities.
