I decided to take a break from re-doing most of this route, and ran a FEC Autorack train. (Sorry for no scenery, been fixing up terrain and adding track)
Entering the 1.2% Drop
Wannabe Tehachapi Loop anyone?
Exiting Fake TL!
In the ground area I added a few baseboards, added track, made it a -1.2% then leveled the ground. I didn't to anything else besides the FTL and this area.

Looks like your on a good start
Like anything it just takes time to complete, and I don't think we ever really finish the completion phase, something comes along and changes your mindset, all good of course.
A ques if I may, what Track are you using here? I really like the Road Bed on it!

An SD45 in disguise
A yard transfer in progress with two trains on a thing I'm working on.
First, collecting the train from initial location (the SD70M and Dash 9) while another is dropped off (the two GP38-2's in the background).
Then the first train arriving at new location.
Finally, a view of the second train returning from within the larger yard.

As for the track, it is a personal reskin of simulatortrain's high detailed track. I am currently working on another surprise that is also included in the route.
