  • Kickstarter Progress Tracking

After less than 24 hours, our Trainz: A New Era Kickstarter project has raced out of the station (there are just so many rail analogies, I can't stop myself). But a good first day doesn't mean we have reached our destination just yet. Keep spreading the word to ensure we maintain this early momentum,

For people who like graphs, we have a pretty one here for you courtesy of Kicktraq.

If you have a website you can grab the code to embed this chart at: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/426...sh/#chart-mini

And of course you can also jump straight to our Kickstarter page here.

Hope you have lots of update material to stop it hitting the buffers (two can play at the rail analogy game ).

How about HOSTLERing the small pledges. According to Kickstarter that is where the main support comes from. Time to get out of the forum and let the World know about Trainz.

      How about doing a mailshot?

That may work. Also, Facebook, Twitter and Google+/Youtube are a good place (although I have seen it in Facebook already)

I suggested a mailshot to all trainzers before this went live - but no one at N3V has responded about it

Wikipedia lists 242 nations, countries, and administrations. 68 have no railways currently but the rest do.

Considering there are Trainzers in at least 58 countries, with creators assets on DLS and a multitude of external websites, we should be doing better as far as PR goes; spread the word.

I'm donating $50 dollars as soon as Paypal is accepted.

If you want Paypal to be accepted, moan at Kickstarter. There's a good reason why they don't accept it though, and that's that Paypal does not support the method of 'holding' funds but not actually sending any unless the project is successful.

Given this, you would do better just using a credit card or a debit card if it's one of the types accepted by Kickstarter, has sufficient funds available, and can make transactions to N3V in Australian Dollars. (also be aware that US pledges may be handled by Amazon's payment service)

Wish I had $300AUD to meet the team as I am known for SpeedTree Creation in Cleveland, Ohio as I am only 1.5 hour drive from Cleveland, Ohio and also would be willing to bring them down to Canton, Ohio to see the Pro Football Hall Of Fame, surely known by Australians.

      Hi Shane,

Tony corrected me on the Amozon issue a few days back. Amazon has absolutely nothing to do with the transaction unless the project is USA based. My issue was actually with my bank not allowing overseas transactions, and that transaction ended up being through a firm in Great Britian.

The reason that Pre-Paid cards and PayPal are not accepted is more to do with "annonymity"<sp?> and accountability. The Project Creator could easily get a Pre-Paid card or PayPal account in just about any name, and contribute to their own project to bump it over the goal mark at the last minute, essentially defrauding the "system" of "Succeed or Fail". PayPal does do "recurring payments", and they do allow "holds" on funds until a transaction completes.

A second issue with PayPal is their "buyer Protection", which allows someone to "change their mind" up to 45 days after-the-fact...which would end up happening a lot more than honest people realize.

On a more positive note...WOW! 4 1/2 days in and we're over $60,000.00...GREAT WORK PEOPLE, Thank you to all those who have already Pledged, and those who are going to.

Thankyou for letting me know on that one. I had a feeling that there was probably a good reason why Paypal/pre-paid cards cannot be used. However, as I found, Kickstarter does appear to not give all card-related info so to say, in that their system appears to accept certain debit cards, but there is still a chance that they may get declined at the crucial stage.

Sidekick measures Kickstarter projects in real time and predicts the outcome with high accuracy. I'm pleased to see it is currently giving TANE's fund raising a 91% likelihood of success.
