Hmmmm, I may have also caught the disease. Trainz, Amateur Radio and Flight Simulation - dropped the Flight Simulation for the odd reason that TRS19 looks so much better. From 13,000 ft the earth is sort of grey. Trainz is slowly forcing me toward a major PC upgrade so it may also be "degraded". Spending time with something is one issue and another is spending money on it.

Fortunately we have a wild political environment which makes the news interesting' but also discouraging.

You'd be surprised. Fake internet points mean a lot to some people.

I agree with much of what you say, and many of the supplied comments since the original post. Don't have a solution of my own, other then to say that a "rating system" has been suggested numerous times previously and N3V has never really responded to the idea that I've seen. I'm sure it would be a headache for them, though I agree such a system is a great idea.

They sound reasonable ideas to me although as you say it would need quite a few users to use it (and the stipulation you mention) to reduce the chance of issues.

Some what true. While people could game the system like that. If it was used by enough people then that could off set any cheating. Also a stipulation could be put into the voting system that you had to have downloaded the asset.

    But these are just ideas.

Exatly one of the many things I am getting at. So some way to review assets would be nice. Just a simple like or dislike would all it would take. The we could sort by popularity if we wanted to.

Right. It would be nice if we could filter out routes built on mobile. Like a check box that says "Hide Mobile Built Content."

But then there are still the people on PC and *shudders* MAC that make just junk routes/sessions.

To this day you can see current Tane screenshots using content from the very first Trainz. Yes, the have been updated but they look like crap. Very few people seem to be creating new content and even less are posting their content on the DLStation. I believe this is due to N3V shunning many content creators and only listening to the people that have paid to play. I hope N3V figures out a better system, but until then I'm just watching and waiting in the wings.
For Railworks, I agree totally. I'm starting a to bring in quality content as freeware, though it is taking some time to learn process of content creation... Not everybody wants to share that kind of information as it might diminish their profits.

Also what really needs to happen. All these people making crap routes need to learn how to do better routes. Then upload the good ones. Not these junk ones.

I have that same experience when working at some customers or in some countries. Apparently some firewalls block some hosting websites.

I forgot to mention that the teacher and principal refused to even mention what the "idiotic buffoon" was doing to me in a parent-teacher conference. Which has happened to me on several occasions.

So you spotted something that is (at least according to you; I can't judge as I have no clue which post it is) against the CoC but you did not report the post (as I did not receive any of your hand) and you still assume a moderator has seen it?

In my work there is a proverb that goes like this: "Assumptions will kill you". Now I work in IT, so I am sure that won't happen very fast but still: Don't assume something is seen by others; act (in this case report it) instead.

    Btw,
You got a warning (apparently). As I have no clue which topic it is or who the other person(s?) are, I can't see if others got anything.

I have to agree that curse words should not be used on this particular website for we have members who are less than 18 years of age. Although, personally I think no age group should cuss. Also, I've seen that particular scenario before. I once called someone in my home-economics class a idiotic buffoon for tearing up my stuff, cussing me out, and threating to cause me serious harm, yet I'm threatened with expulsion from school because I called him "something offensive." What's worse is at the time I was a senior in high school, and the "idiotic buffoon" was a freshman! It's happening all over the world. You have to be careful what you say and to whom, for it may end your life as you know it. Sometimes quite literally.
