I know you said in the Club Car thread that you were waiting on updates for loco start-up/shut down. Did that get resolved for the public release, or will that feature come at a later date? Just trying to figure out if I should wait for that or go ahead and spend the money. Looking forward to running them all the same

there are some inherent problems in Trainz that cause what i consider unacceptable quality when using the startup/shutdown features, and that by itself renders isolating the unit and dynamic brake sounds and other parts of that feature useless. while it is fun to have, it will cureently remain inactive in the TFX until those issues can be resolved. it is not likely that this will become standard on JR locomotives until some changes are made in trainz 12. like most other features implemented via the TFX library, i expect them to be retroactive across all dependent locomotives when that time arrives.

That's good enough for me. There are tons of little things that would be fun to have, but if it means that the unit or TRS will crash, then it's not worth it. Thanks for the info. Excuse me while I head over to your store.

Thanks again for all the great high-quality products you guys put out. They keep getting better with each new product.

well it isnt that severe, i just don't think it is fair to supply something to the end user that does not work 100% how i intended it. without going into too much detail, there are issues in the 12 sound system that clash with playing engine sounds in the manner required to implement the feature. while i feel i created a working example outside of the game processing, i think that the game itself should handle these processes for reliability and performance reasons. this cannot happen without a change to the software by the developers.

At this time this is not a possibility. When the functionality is deemed ready it will be rolled out as specified by ns37 above. Thanks

You shouldn't have to open them Benjamin, You only need to commit them if they were open for edit. Can you supply sum more info on what you did or if they don't show in game at all ? and we'll see if we can get it sorted for you.
Cheers Mick.

HI ben1987, I Brought H2 Version today And Had The exact same faults you have shown on yours.

I reinstalled the TRAIN FX LIBRARY and The new cabs only this time I let the 3 Files overwrite everything.

Just commit if some files become open for edit ( TRAIN FX LIBRARY ), and let Trainz go through the motions of

updating.

This is how I did it and content manger now shows no faults.

I don't overwrite everything as a rule when installing Jointed Rail content But when Faults and errors start

showing then I start to experiment with overwriting.

Hope you get it sorted

Cheers jimbo

Woodieshouse- they will work in 2009 but you have to be patched to ts2009 SP4.

Ben- download and overwrite the train fx library for your version and this will take care of those errors. This is required or they will not function. Make sure you check the open for edit tab of content manager so.nothing.is stuck there open for edit.

I did read the thread. As I said, I tried re-installing the Train FX library, and it did not work.

Also, for whatever reason, the Train FX library shows as obsolete. I am using the latest version the site has posted. Is there a later version?

There are 2 types of Train FX libraries. Are you making sure to grab the version specific to TRS 2009 & 2010? When you install it does it ask you to overwrite anything? Is there anything left in your open for edit tab in CMP?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

I did install the TS2009-2010 one. And no, it did not ask me to overwrite anything for some reason. As for my open for edit tab, it's empty.

Hope this helps find a solution to my issue. Thanks in advance for any help!

EDIT: I went and deleted both the Train Effects v1.25 assets (idk why there were two). I then re-installed the file, and now everything is working fine! :D

JRInteriorCabinData is a function of the TFX library, so there is really no question that your problem lies there.

you must have version 1.25 <kuid2:45324:555200:9>

I have the iPad 2 and it occasionally has issues with loading the JR site mostly with zooming in on the pictures. Nothing that really impedes the use of the site in any major way. iPads are ok for what I use them for, basically a digital notepad with some games, but some people expect them to replace a laptop which it falls woefully short of doing.
