Hey, Jack! Spent many a night at the Ocean Deck!

As for purchased routes, I think it's going to depend on what you want. Modula City is a tram route set in a tropical paradise; Cabon City is a more urban tram setup. Murchison 2 has a good mix of stuff, look in the Screenshots forum as the author, sirgibby, has posted various screenies. I can't think of any other U.S. payware routes right now.

Murchison 2 is not a US route ---- Its a New Zealand Route

Technically, perhaps, but it's got a fair amount of U.S. rolling stock. It's also got a much more U.S. look and feel all-around than a lot of the routes out there.

I've seen Sirgibby screens shots with a variety of equipment on the Murchison, perhaps that helps in drawing in folks from different nations, not a bad marketing idea.

If the OP is interested in US routes, then I recommend checking out TrainzItalia for their excellent Western US routes.
