How do you make hornsounds that go on and off as you press the and hold the H key and what free programs can creat and save in the wave sound format?

This question has been answered numerous times. It's best to do a search before you pose a question.

However, I'll answer you anyhow!:D

I use a free downloadable program called "Audacity"... you can get it here:

There are various sources for obtaining locomotive hornsounds. I use the internet and loco websites that have videos to capture my sounds. Don't know how to capture sounds off the web? See this tutorial:

Just save the loco whistle and open it in Audacity, the manipulate it to your liking. It isn't the easiest thing to do in the world, there is a learning curve, but once you get everything straight in your mind, it's not that hard.

One thing, you will have to save the sounds (in Audacity) in Mono for them to be heard outside the loco cab in Trainz.

EDIT: BTW, you don't have to hold the "H" key to blow the horn/whistle. It's easier to use the "+" key on the number pad.
