I would like to know why Auran Trainz doesn't allow echoes to be put on the train horns. What do tools do you have to use in order to record train sounds and create them and be able to use them on Auran Trainz. Is there any way I could get train hornsounds off youtube and record them for Trainz and still be able to use them? In MSTS(Microsoft Train Simulator) they let you create four parts to a train horn. The idle phase, the at speed phase, like when you see at train coming at high speeds and they sound the horn and its a high pitched sound as if were screaming, the echo and the part like the part like its talking at a normal voice or know as the loop horn sound, and inside the cab as if it were the idle phase of the horn or the normal voice sound of the horn or the loop horn?

You would clone your hornsound asset, and rename it to your preference.

You would have to record a (I think "wav" file recording) the same length as the hornsound.

And replace the original recording, with your own recording, using "Edit In Explorer" (TRS2006).

Here's a tutorial on capturing sounds from Youtube (or any source on your computer):

Then, you can DLoad the program Audacity and manipulate the sounds:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Make sure when you save the files that they are in Wav format and MONO. Stereo sounds don't work correctly in Trainz.

Sample sounds at 22 kHz bit rate, mono. More info on sounds and soundscripts in the TRS2006CCG page 396. If you don't have it, get it at http://www.auran.com/TRS2006/global/files/CCG2006.zip
