Go to the Download Station, enter mbta. Check all boxes including UTC, select "rolling stock". Search.

you might also search 'kuid 32871:" for rolling stock.

Cheers.

Ive seen the type 6 & type 7 MBTA stock in the Boston subways.... so I'm not really sure what your looking for. Might it be your looking for NYCTA stuff in MBTA colors? if so; your gonna have to make that your self.

@Peter - the Type 6 and Type 7 cars up on the DLS are LRVs, not the heavy rail cars Susan is looking for.

I remember Jaleel was working on some Redline cars, but I don't know if he ever finished the project. The preliminary models looked great.

Being from the Boston area (well quite a few miles north), I've ridden all of the lines in Boston. They were all built at different times, and all have unique rolling stock. This is what makes this system so unique, and would be a lot of fun to model.

Susan,

I think the cars for the Blue Line and Orange Line are essentially the same. The older cars are the Hawker-Siddley cars from Canada. The difference being of course the pantograph for the Blue Line for the surface line out to Wonderland.

This line was once the "Narrow Gauge", or the Boston, Revere Beach, & Lynn, which once ran Mason Bogey 24" steam locos with heavyweight Laconia parlor cars! Later on they electrified with the help of General Electric and put trolley poles on the heavyweight cars. When they went out in the 1940s, the plans were to incorporate their system into the Boston Elevated. This happened in the 1950s when Logan Airport opened.

The Red Line cars are much bigger, in fact some of the widest and largest subway cars in the world. This is a relatively new line, which was built in the 1910s. The original line was called the Cambridge Subway.

Now if we could find some Hawker-Siddley cars, I could easily reskin them. This is an easy task compared to making something from scratch, which I'm not good at either. My brother can, but he's busy with other projects at the moment and wouldn't be able to do it in any reasonable amount of time.

There are actually three layouts on the DLS for the MBTA; MBTA F line, Lechmere MBTA, and MBTA Trolley LIne. . They are very old and need work to get them running but might act as a starting point.

Search "mbta" under layouts on the DLS. Make sure all boxes are ticked as these layouts were made in 200 or earlier.

I will be interested in seeing what you produce

Cheers..

There are some MBCR cab cars. Look for shoreliner cars on the DLS. They are a reskin of the MN cars built into TS2010, and available from TC.

I've been looking for doubledeckers myself, but can't find any suitable.

There are no F40PHs available with the MBTA cars. There are some Amtrak ones available though.

David,

TC 1&2 has no content other than what's available in the program its self. You can import the content from previous versions of Trainz. See the forums about this as I don't remember the details.

The content that does come in may have errors reported in CMP. You will need to repair the errors prior to using the content otherwise the items will not show up in Surveyor for placement.
